Saudi Arabian SBL round 1 best performance: Donte McGill (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Donte McGill (190-G-1995, agency: Green Sports Management) had an amazing evening in the last round for Al Wehda, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (39 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Al Salam (#7, 1-1) with 32-point margin 98-66. Al Wehda was forced-out from the top positions in Saudi Arabian SBL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Al Wehda won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game McGill had a remarkable 65.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Wehda's top player in his first season with the team. Former Florida International University star has very solid stats this year. McGill is league's best scorer averaging so far 34.0ppg. McGill is in league's top in and averages impressive 62.2% FGP. Worth to mention McGill played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Antwan Scott (185-G-1992) of league's second-best Al Hilal. Scott had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 12 assists. Of course he led Al Hilal to another comfortable win outscoring Al Taawoun (0-2) 113-69. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Scott is a newcomer at Al Hilal, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.0ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 8.0rpg and 12.0apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Wayne Chism (206-PF-1987) of Al Salam (#7). Chism scored 26 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Chism's great performance Al Salam lost 66-98 to Al Wehda (#4, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Al Salam needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Chism has a great season in Saudi Arabia. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.5rpg (#1 in league).
